Testimonials

I wanted to extend a thanks to you both for what you do at the gym. It bums me out when I cant complete some of the workouts or compete as well as I want to, but you guys help support and create an atmosphere that makes me want to keep coming back and trying. I appreciate it and I have noticed a difference in my fitness level already and it motivates to keep coming so that I can see what I can achieve in another two months. Thank you, you do good work.

It was challenging and I worked through, but like you say easy doesn’t get results.  My left tricep muscle hurt but its all good today.  Now I feel my pecs. I also believe in order to not hurt so much you have to work your body more consistently.  I did modified ring pushups with not the best form, but next time, like the first time I did ring pull up, wow big improvement, as like every exercise I do I see improvement cardio and strength etc, won’t be giving up and growing old anytime soon, if there are times I can’t make it to the gym I have been doing some routines at home and now I am keeping a journal like you suggested. Its fun and sometimes intimidating, that’s what I really liked about the foundations, it was at a moderate beginner level and most time it was just Dave and I.  Everyone is great and supportive and the whole community spirit is awesome, you two have done an incredible job.

“I started training with Sean a few months after my 2nd child was born. Although I had always considered myself athletic – I played several sports and loved training in the gym and running to keep in shape – I was having a very difficult time getting my body back in shape after the 2nd pregnancy. My core was very weak and for the first time in my adult life – I had almost no muscle mass at all. I was desperate to get in shape and was prepared to do whatever it took. When Sean told me we would be following the Crossfit training regimen, I was a little skeptical. I didn’t believe that I could get the results I wanted in such a short time.
My first workout lasted about 13 minutes. Even though I was exhausted afterwards I still felt that I needed to do at least another 45 minutes of exercise – as I have been taught to believe is what is necessary to lose weight and get in shape. Sean told me it wasn’t necessary and helped me stretch. The next workout was much the same. High intensity for a short amount of time. The workouts were always different and exciting  and new. I loved them. And Sean always – from day one – had faith in me that I would reach my goals and get to be fit and strong within only a couple of months. I had doubts but Sean was so adamant that I started to believe him.
I started to look forward to my workouts and my energy levels soared. I built muscle quickly and my fitness level increased drastically. I felt like my old self again – but even better! I had reached all of my goals – but more importantly I felt like an athlete again. And, I could be in and out of the gym in less than an hour!
Sean has since moved to Kamloops and I do feel lost without him. Going to the gym is not the same without my trainer and cheerleader. But I am going to stay in touch via his website so that I can continue doing the daily workouts he posts online. I envy all of Sean’s new clients in Kamloops because I know what an impact Sean and his workouts will have on their lives!”

“I worked out with Sean White once a week. His workouts were great. I always finished feeling like I had done good work, but wasn’t so exhausted I couldn’t move. This was all in my own home, without any large equipment. Sean brought everything with him. During the summer, weather permitting, we would exercise outside. He was a real pleasure to work with.”

“Sean agreed to work out with me in my home twice a week as I was too shy and insecure to go to a regular gym because of my size.  I don’t think he had any idea what he was in for.  He was not only my personal trainer; he quickly became a close friend who I could talk with about anything.  I never felt embarrassed about my size around him, instead I felt inspired.  Working out at home never seemed to be a challenge for Sean.  He proved that you do not need fancy gym equipment to have a great workout.  Even though he would come extremely equipped, he used stairs, park equipment etc. to keep his sessions interesting.  I never dreaded his arrival; I only sit here writing this, wishing he was still here. Sean pushed me to do things that he knew I was capable of despite my skepticism. If I could not do it, he would find an alternate exercise that would work the same muscles but was easier for me to do.  It didn’t take long before he had me doing exercises that I had never dreamed I would be able to do.  Sean’s kindness and patience is a gift for those who struggle with their weight.   I miss you Sean :-D

“I am 56 years old.  Since my teen years I have lost hundreds of pounds, off and on again.  The problem being the on again!
Diets have worked for me but during the months of dieting I always felt deprived and often grumpy and miserable. Felt hungry a lot of the time.  So when the diet ended the weight came back because I went back to my bad eating habits.  Vicious circle. My son, Sean, a Personal Trainer, who operates CrossFit Kamloops, suggested I read Enter the Zone by Barry Sears. I did.  It was very interesting.  It is a way to improve your health and attain a healthy weight.  It is all about balance.  At first it takes a little effort to figure out the balance of proteins, carbohydrates and fats but after a while it is really VERY simple. Also at first I actually had trouble eating the amount of food required.
Someone recently said to me “you seem to have gone through a metamorphosis”.  I have.  I can easily eat like this for the rest of my life.  I feel great. Shopping is fun, clothes FIT!  From time to time I may step out of The Zone for a meal but so easy to return to The Zone at the next meal which I want to do not because I have to but because I feel better in The Zone. My moods are even more stable.
I know I can eat like this for the rest of my life because I NEVER feel hungry if anything I feel like I have to eat too much.  I enjoy the foods.  The book lists what is better for you ,more favorable, and you decide what to eat. It is common sense to eat from the lists that have the more favorable for you foods. It is even easy to eat at restaurants and still stay in The Zone.  I don’t really feel like I am missing out on anything.
From Oct 15 -Mar 15 I lost 14 pounds. What is “exciting” is I am losing fat. I entered The Zone on October 15 and since then have reduced my percentage of Body Fat by almost 4%. Losing fat rather than muscle makes such a difference.  I notice the greatest difference around my waist.  Also though this sounds silly to some people there are many people who understand when I say it is easy to bend to pick something off the floor or to tie shoes.  All this is only going to improve more as I continue to stay in The Zone.
I guess I better stop now before I write a book.  I just am so excited about this.  I feel like I have made a discovery I want to share.”
